The Story of The Antique Warehouse

At The Antique Warehouse, everything revolves around a love for craftsmanship, history, and sustainability. In our own restoration workshop, we give antique furniture a second life. Every piece that comes to us has a story – and we ensure that story can be passed down for many generations.

With years of experience and in-depth knowledge of antique furniture, we know exactly what each piece needs. Restoration is a careful and time-consuming process. That’s why we take the time to do it right. You can see that reflected in the price, but especially in the result: a piece of furniture that can last for years – often even generations.

In our workshop, we don’t work alone. We have intensive contact with a network of specialized craftsmen, each one the best in their field. Think of woodturners who replicate missing parts exactly, leather inlayers who reapply beautifully inlaid leather to tabletops, experienced polishers like Jason from JR Polishing who restore the wood’s deep shine, his mate Chris who re-glues and repairs all wooden joints, and metalworkers who restore original hardware parts, etc.

Through this collaboration, we can restore every detail with the utmost care, always respecting the original character of the furniture.

Additionally, restoration is one of the most sustainable choices you can make. Instead of producing new furniture, we preserve existing pieces and their materials. In this way, we extend the lifespan of often valuable heirlooms – something that is not only beautiful but also good for the environment.

A restored piece of furniture is more than just an object. It is a piece of history that is ready for the future again.

Again, we can do a lot, but we don’t do quick fixes just because they are cheap; I honestly suggest you try elsewhere for that. It’s also good to know that, for example, removing a scratch from a tabletop as well as possible means that the entire surface needs to be treated, and a loose chair leg requires all joints to be taken apart, cleaned, and re-glued. Thus, what initially seems like a simple task can be very time-consuming. This is not to discourage you but is the reality; the costs of a project are based on an hourly rate of €75, excluding VAT per hour.
