These antique desks often come from England, Wales or Scotland and are restored where necessary, often with a new leather top. For this we use the best hides that are glued in one piece into the top, so no glued-together pieces which gives a messy appearance. These antique desks, formerly from large private libraries, law or notary offices, are of very solid and beautiful quality. After the 1920 period, with few exceptions, desks of this quality were no longer made. If you compare it to current furniture, it is truly comparing apples to oranges. Tastes differ, but a desk of this quality has already proven itself by serving for at least 100 years.
