This is an early 19th-century solid mahogany "navy campaign" chest of drawers. This antique chest of drawers was once the property of an officer of the British Navy. Together, the owner and the chest of drawers have made many distant journeys. Since this cabinet belonged to personal property, and the officer served on various ships, the chest of drawers also went from ship to ship. For this transport, it was much easier to make it in two smaller parts, with detachable legs. (easier to maneuver, less damage) This ship's chest of drawers has a fantastic patina, completely original and made with great craftsmanship.
