Antique oak English breakfront bookcase from Lancaster, circa 1840

Early Victorian breakfront bookcase in original condition, a rare find

This bookcase originates from the United Kingdom, early Victorian, circa 1830, breakfront oak bookcase in original condition. Bought from a dealer from the north of England in Oldham, who purchased the contents from a family in a country house. This cabinet had never left the house. All locks are complete, keys still need to be made. The locks are signed with Hobbs, locks that were only used in the finest furniture of the time. The cabinet consists of plinth, three lower cabinets, middle section, three upper cabinets and top, also ideal for an apartment. Bookshelves height adjustable. Dimensions are 269 wide and 247 cm high, beautiful proportions. The ornament is the Rose of Lancashire, and the cabinet has an original patina.
